Sources of Sound

This is DeLorean, my personal hammered dulcimer that I built 5 years ago. This instrument was built with such prayer and intention, and although I am deeply connected with it, there is a new creation in my thought-forms that needs manifesting. So, I am selling this beloved musical companion in order to bring forth a new mystical creature of sound vibrations! Please take note of the features of this TRULY one-of-a-kind hammered dulcimer:

~First and foremost, the bridge caps, where the strings rest, are made of crystals (jade, rose quartz, and amethyst), each shaped and polished by myself.
~4 fully chromatic octaves, and 1 diatonic bass octave
~A finger-jointed, tapered frame (Honduran mahogany and purple heart), promoting a better interplay of the lower and higher frequencies 
~Foot-pedal actuated damper-bar system made of purple heart
~soundboard and back made of silver bali
~The crystal bridge caps reside in greenheart wood bridges

 

With the luxury of building an instrument from scratch, I put a lot of intention into the details. I finally manifested a dream I had for a few years, of uniting crystals and music, and using crystals as bridges on musical instruments. Being a Reiki initiate, I chose to sand the Cho-Ku-Rei symbol around the sound-hole on the back of the instrument. (Cho-Ku-Rei means "Direct From Spirit") I also designed sacred geometric sound-hole rosettes: one of purple heart with a blue sodalite crescent moon and morning star with a phyllotaxis spiral; the other is a sacred geometric seed of life made of yellowheart, depicting the sun. I envision these two rosettes, coupled with the sound passing through them, balancing the energies of light and darkness.

I was gifted the wood to build DeLorean from a good friend's pile of reclaimed tropical hardwood from the Virgin Islands.

Comes with a fresh pair of hammers, a stand, a case (with a wheel!) and a tuning wrench.
